WHAT TO WEAR WHEN WORKING FROM HOME!
Happy Monday Beautiful People! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! Last Friday, I had the pleasure of being on Virginia This Morning for the fifth time y’all….yes, my fifth appearance and no worries y’all…it was via Skype. I was actually a little nervous about the Skype thing but it all worked out great. So, my topic was “What to Wear When Working from Home”. Many of us are now working from home on a full time basis and we don’t know exactly when we’ll be able to return to the office. For many of us, it is an adjustment and for me, I find that getting dressed in the morning and I’m talking about doing your hair and makeup (if only a lipstick) that I’m more productive and it simply makes me feel better. Trust me on this y’all…let’s leave the pj’s for bedtime!
The key for working at home looks is comfort! Select key pieces that you can mix and match and also pieces that can transition from one season to the next. Here are a few looks that I shared on Virginia This Morning…..and all looks featured are from Dillard’s.
This monochromatic look is perfect for working from home and also great for making any work presentations via Zoom or Skype. The three pieces that make up this look are all separates…the pants have an elastic waistband and it’s one of my favorite details about the pants. The duster is a perfect accessory to have in your wardrobe as well….it’s so lightweight and it can be paired up with other looks. The shoes are the cutest pair of animal print flats. For me, I like wearing shoes that I can easily slip my feet into and this includes your favorite pair of slippers and of course, barefoot is always a great option!
The next two looks are the cutest and most comfortable dresses….a knee length version and the maxi version. Both of these dresses are so perfect for working from home….again, look for pieces with lightweight material and you definitely want a style that is casual and nothing that is too tight in the fit…also, don’t be afraid to go with a pop of color and add in a cute accessories, like the scarf pictured above.
The black midi dress featured below is sleeveless, so I paired it with a matching cardigan which is sold separately. The cardigan can also be paired with other items that I’m sure you have hidden in the closet!
This look is another favorite of mine and yes, the pieces are sold separately…the pants have an elastic waistband and are an upgrade to the leggings look and feel. The jacket sleeves can be easily pushed up and I added a T-shirt with a pop of color to complete the look.
For my final look, I wanted to include sweatsuit pieces….how cute is this set….so perfect for a work at home look and the model, didn’t want to take it off and the camel color suede slip on Ugg are the perfect shoe to accessorize the look!
So, remember…..the key to selecting your “Work from Home Wardrobe” is comfort, selecting pieces you can mix and match, selecting pieces that can make the transition from season to season. Get up each day and get ready as if you were going to the office. Do your hair and makeup, even it’s just putting on lipstick. You’ll find yourself to be more productive and getting dresses will simply make you feel good. Also, keep in mind that these looks are perfect for going out to run a quick errand to the grocery store or pharmacy or just to get outside and get some fresh air and to walk the dog.
I want to give a HUGE shout out and thank you to Dillard’s. You can find all the beautiful pieces online so hurry on over and start shopping y’all. There are a lot of great sales going on!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and be safe and stay healthy y’all….I’m sending you all lots of hugs and positive vibes….xoxo
