"FOR MY AGE......"

Happy Wednesday Beautiful People….so, yes I’m wearing a dress that is “above the knee” and yes, I’m 50+….well actually, I’ll be 60 in 16 days…I’m pointing this out because the first and only time I wore this dress, it was pointed out to me by a “friend” of mine that she thought the dress was too short and I quote…….”for my age group”. I asked her to repeat herself because in my mind, I was like, “did she just say this dress is too short for my age group”.

“For My Age”…what does this phrase really mean. There have been a few times when I have shared my age with someone and there response is….”You look good for your age”….again, what does this mean! Is there a certain way we are suppose to look at a certain age?

It’s a good thing I don’t let that phrase change me in any way. There are certain things that I won’t wear but it’s because it doesn’t look good on me…not because I think I’m too old to wear it. I won’t label myself or put myself in a box….I’m just being me…I won’t get caught up in the “age thing”….I embrace my age and I’m looking forward to becoming 60 and the new chapter that’s ahead of me.
