LIFE'S FIRST TIMES!

Happy Monday Beautiful People! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day! Mother’s Day is bittersweet for me as this year it will be 24 years without my mom…I remember the first Mother’s Day after her passing, it was truly the hardest and as it got a bit easier in the years after, there are some years when it’s a bit rough and this year my favorite 7 and 9 year old spent the weekend with me…keeping me company and showing me so much love and telling me to stay out of the living room while they are secretly making me a Mother’s Day card and coming downstairs on Sunday morning and telling me Happy Mother’s Day and giving me the biggest hug ever.

I did some reflecting over the weekend over “Life’s First Times”….for some of you this may have been your first Mother’s Day without your mom or your grandmother…or that special lady in your life who was like a mom to you…a mentor to you…and this Mother’s Day was a first for my sister-in-law in that it was the first Mother’s Day for her without her daughter…my niece passed away last year and as I chatted with my sister-in-law on yesterday, she of course made it through but I can’t imagine how she was truly feeling.

There are so many “first times” that we will go through on our journeys…there’s no way of avoiding them…some of these moments will make us stronger and some of these moments that we go through, will make us better prepared to help someone else.

Last night I wrote in my journal a few “first times” that I look forward to in the future…taking the brokenness from my journey and turning it into my first book, having my first women’s conference to meet all the beautiful women who follow me and read my blog so that we can be a force together to change the world and help each other, my first time surprising a special lady with a fun makeover, my first clothing line…..these are just a few!

Happy Mother’s Day to each and everyone of you for it is truly every day of the year…a Mother’s job is a constant….non-stop and I salute you all…God Bless You…I’m sending you all lots of hugs and positive vibes…stay FABULOUS!……xoxoxo

Fashion Deets: The jean jacket is so old y’all….it’s got to be about 15 years old or more. The skirt and top are two seasons ago….both are from Ann Taylor. The shoes are from DSW and I’m wearing one of my favorite Rhythm Wigs.
