Celebrating Self Love!
Hi Beautiful People! I'm pretty much a private person but there are times when you go though some life changes and through seasons in your life where you find yourself wanting to "testify" on what you've been through. My mom used to always say if you live long enough, you will go through some stuff. And she's right!
With everyone celebrating Valentine's on yesterday and I'm sure the celebrations will continue through the weekend, I too was celebrating. No I don't have a "Boo" in my life, but I was celebrating "Me"! Self-love is key! After my last relationship, I needed time to heal from the breakup of course and more importantly, I needed time for ME! Time to get to know myself again. There were times that I would look in the mirror and I didn't recognize myself. It wasn't the outside appearance, it was what I was feeling on the inside. I had to get my happy back, but this was something that I needed to do for myself. No one could do this for me.
The key thing for me was when I started going back to church and getting my relationship back on track with God. I can't even explain to you the impact this had on my life. It made me stronger and it gave me an inner peace that I truly needed. I can't make it without God in my life. I was so lost without him. I started focusing on me in a good way, not a selfish way. I started getting out of the house and enjoying life again. You see, staying at home was my safe space and I totally needed to get out in the world and enjoy life, my family, and my friends. I've never had an issue going to the movies or out to eat alone. I actually enjoy it! Basically y'all, I've been dating myself and I love buying myself flowers! I look forward to the next chapter of my life and I'll keep you posted on the journey along the way. Sending you all positive vibes and hugs....xoxoxo
Now for the details on my outfit! The"Selene" High Waist Wide Leg Pants I'm wearing, I purchased over a year ago and they are a true classic. I paired them with a sweater for this shoot, and in the future, (yes, they will be on repeat) I'll pair them with a blouse. Maybe a white blouse with black polka dots! I love this all black everything look...it will never go out of style and it makes me feel like the true "Boss Lady"! For my pop of color, my girl Erika of Erika Nixon Beauty Pro glammed me up with shades of pink for this shoot and it was perfect. She's so awesome! Also, my earrings from Bauble Bar were the perfect accessory. Images captured by my beautiful friend and awesome photographer, Ali of Alisandra Photography
