"SOCIAL "ME" DIA"
Have you all noticed the “ME” in Social Media? Social Media is the platform where we do “talk” about ourselves and share our journeys (to a certain extent) with our followers….it’s an awesome platform and I have met some of the most beautiful and kind and giving people via social media. I remember when I first started blogging almost 10 years, (when I wrote a wedding/floral blog) I would stress if I didn’t have a certain amount of followers, or if no one was commenting or liking my posts…I would compare myself to bloggers that had more followers than I did and would just beat myself up trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.
Well, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong…I was comparing myself to other bloggers…instead of staying in my lane, I was getting off course and wasting time trying to be something that I wasn’t….I needed to simply be “ME”….get it….Social “ME” dia. I can’t be anyone else and no one can do me…for those of you who worry about how many followers you have and worried about who isn’t following you…please stop….bottom line, for the most part you’ll worrying about people who don’t even know you. Isn’t it AWESOME that God doesn’t judge us on how many followers, likes, or comments we receive on social media….God looks at our heart.
For me, launching Medley Style was not just about me and the pretty clothes, it’s about inspiring YOU and sharing my journey of what I’ve been through and hoping that it will bless you and help you in some way to make your life better, to give you the strength and encouragement to do what you need to do, to make your smile, to let you know that it’s not to late to live your dream and have new beginnings, to let you know it’s okay to fail so stop beating yourself up about it, to let you know that you will survive a heartbreak, you will survive betrayal, to let you know that you’re stronger than you think, to let you know that you are not alone and yes, to let you know…we can be cute and fabulous through it all! I love y’all and thank you for supporting me and hanging in there with me with my flaws and all….you all ROCK!
I say all this to remind us, stop stressing about the number of followers you have or don’t have and just concentrate on doing you and always trying to take your gift to the next level. Don’t worry about about what’s going on in the next lane…stay focused and stay humbled. Be excited for others when they achieve their goals and when something great happens for them…don’t be jealous or envy them…you don’t know the journey that got them to the next level…be happy for them and remember to simply do YOU! Thanks so much for stopping by today….I’m sending you lots of hugs today…stay FABULOUS my friends……xoxo
Outfit details: The Mock Neck Ruffle Cuff Top was the perfect choice to pair with the Side Panel Ponte Leggings, all from Ann Taylor. To complete the look, I wore these chic gold sneakers by Michael Kors that I purchased at Macy's. I think these sneakers are out of stock as I could not find them online, but there are so many other cute styles to choose from.
